Weekly Dev Log Week 1 - Ren

This week's goal was to get feedback on the Miro prototype on how the game would be played. We are looking for feedback on the game idea and the rules.

What should be kept in the final game?

What should be changed?

Was it easy to understand?

We were able to make a Miro prototype with the basics of the game.  All the rules of the game are laid out as well as a simple game-level design. As well as some placeholders for the items that will be collected. The score display, timer, and list are in the top corner for every player to be aware of.

Feedback:

There could be another type of challenge for the middle room.

More items could be added so the level does not feel short.

Add some enemies or make it more challenging.

I saw some people being confused about what the goal was and which item goes where. Did like the idea but too simple and needs some challenges.

I asked the players, "What would you change?" "Any ideas on what could make it more enjoyable?"

Goals For Next Week:

Redraw the level design with new feedback.

Decide on the items and how many of them will be used for the final game.

What codes are needed for the players to move with controllers? Start looking at how to make the server and host for multiplayer. Start with a list of sounds needed. Which room would be with what color palette? The color scene for the game and what looks for a Pinterest board with what we are looking for.

What I will work on for next week:

Making a multiplayer server. Look for codes and start with the basics of having a menu and a small level with at least one person moving. Will submit ideas for the items that will be used for the game. Look for some references and ideas on how the level will look. Low poly style.  I will need to learn some multiplayer videos on Unity. Server, Host, etc.
